Please remember that personal property taxes are based on what you own on January 1. If your tax bill for that year has incorrect information, you may request the adjustment via email, USPS, drop-box in Clayton or in person.

You will need to provide the documentation below (photos, scans or copies for email and mail):

  • Both sides of your ID
  • If you are adding a vehicle: Front and back of the title (signed over to you) or an Application for Missouri Title’ (in your name) or out-of- state registration
  • If you are removing a vehicle you will need to show proof of the reason for removal: sale or trade papers, ‘Date of Loss’ letter from an insurance company, repossession papers, police report for a stolen vehicle, receipt from a salvage yard, et. 
  • Your last ‘paid’ personal property tax receipt
  • Your address on January 1, 2018, 2019 & 2020

USPS mail or Drop-Off in the Clayton Lobby: Collector of Revenue, 41 S. Central Ave, Clayton, MO 63105. Please include your phone number in case of questions.

Offices: Our Clayton location and the North and South County satellite offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00am – 4:30 pm.  Please schedule an appointment for the location of your choice at https://stlouiscountymo.gov/services//  Be sure to bring all required documentation, wear a face mask and be prepared for a wait.

After all documentation has been received and processed, the amended tax bill (if applicable) will be mailed or emailed to you. Please allow time for processing and/or mailing.
