County Executive Page, Fredbird to Attend St. Louis County’s Annual 6K Park Run/Walk


St. Louis County, MO (October 22, 2019) - St. Louis County’s fifth annual 6K Park Run/Walk race – open to the public and participants of all ages – is set to take place Sunday, Oct. 27.

Meet and take pictures with the St. Louis Cardinals' Fredbird, County Executive Sam Page, and other guests at this family friendly fundraiser event benefiting the St. Louis County Pet Adoption Center.

The 6K Run/Walk kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Tremayne Shelter at Creve Coeur Lake Park, 13725 Marine Ave. in Maryland Heights. Registration, walk-in registration, and vendor booths open at 7:30 a.m. County Executive Page will speak at the opening ceremony of the race, around 8:45 a.m. Fredbird will be in attendance from 9:30-10 a.m.

“This is a great opportunity for our residents and employees to get outdoors, be active, and enjoy one another, all while benefiting the Pet Adoption Center which relies so much on community support,” County Executive Page said.

The entry fee to participate in the Run/Walk is a donation for the St. Louis County Pet Adoption Center. Suggested donations include leashes, collars, brushes, blankets, pet carriers, toys, kitty litter pans, bird cages, paper towels, cleaning supplies, and/or monetary donations. All donations should be brought to the event.

All participants will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win five $50 VISA gift cards. St. Louis County employees who participate or volunteer will earn wellness incentive points.

Attendees may register as an individual or team. First- and third-place medals will be presented to males and females in all age divisions. The team with the most participants will win a trophy.

The St. Louis County 6K Park Run/Walk is sponsored by Anthem, the St. Louis County Employee Wellness Council, the St. Louis County Department of Public Health, The Standard, the St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation, VBA, GlobalGreen Insurance Agency, and Bodies Race Company.
